Welcome to the Greenbelt ‘50 for 50’ hub. This is where we’re sharing all the news and resources to reach our goal of 50 new hosts for Ukrainians fleeing the war in the run up and during the festival this year.
In this page you’ll find information, resources and ways to take action.
This is a presentation shared live, with live testimony during a Welcome Call for the Greenbelt 50 for 50 - Finding 50 new hosts to celebrate 50 years of Greenbelt Festival.
We’ve captured and shared here the informational section of the call. Thanks so much for checking out these resources!
Please start by watching this short video on why we need more hosts, and why we need to keep showing solidarity as the war continues.

Hello! We’ve found out about the Greenbelt x Citizens UK 50 for 50 event this year and thought of you - new hosts are needed and are very hard to find. The team we met from Communities for Ukraine will be running more information sessions, and will be at Greenbelt - you can find out more by joining the ‘Greenbelt 50 for 50’ Whatsapp here: https://chat.whatsapp.com/JCwX4JMDmTdJFSNifcStz5
Citizens UK is a lead sponsor of Community Sponsorship in the UK, having supported community groups to welcome nearly 300 people through UNHCR routes since 2017. We bring all that learning and experience into our Communities for Ukraine programme.
We work closely in partnership with USPUK (Ukrainian Sponsorship Pathway UK) who have people on the ground, supporting and identifying those in need and at risk in refugee centres in Poland and Ukraine.
Through getting to know the people who need a safe welcome and sanctuary in the UK, and our relational matching process it means that both guests and hosts find a sustainable match that is longer-lasting, sustainable and surrounded with a far greater level of safeguarding and support. This approach has meant that we have a track record of less than 1% homelessness. Our process takes a little longer, but it works well and has now been tested approaching 1,000 times.
